JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Adult Reception consists of a total of 7 employees and a unit manager. We who work in the team have extensive experience in social work in various areas. The workgroup collaborates continuously both internally in the team and administration, as well as externally with other actors. For the reception's work to function, it requires that everyone contributes and can collaborate as well as work independently when needed. Furthermore, it requires that one can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously, can adapt quickly, and be flexible in their work. Remote work is applied to some extent.

As a social secretary in the Adult Reception, you are the first contact with adults applying for support from the social committee. Main cases include financial assistance, harmful use and dependency, as well as violence in close relationships. You work with authority and handle incoming applications and reports based on SoL (Social Services Act) and, where applicable, LVM (Act on Care of Abusers in Certain Cases). The unit has the primary responsibility regarding authority related to violence in close relationships.

We have a preventive focus to help residents achieve a functioning independent life at an early stage. You will have an important role in informing and guiding individuals and the public on issues related to the social services' work with adults and to the community's efforts in general.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or equivalent education, and experience in case management within areas such as financial assistance, violence, harmful use and dependency, mental disabilities, or other areas within social services. You are familiar with applicable legislation and knowledge of the community's support systems. We consider it a merit if you have training and previous experience in using investigation and follow-up instruments, such as FREDA, SARA, PATRIARK. We use the operational systems Lifecare and Cosmic Link, so experience with those systems is also a merit. Since business trips occur, a B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

The work places high demands on collaboration and that you can work well both in a team and independently. We expect you to be social, structured, and have the ability to take responsibility and complete tasks. You should be calm and stable in pressured situations. You have good collaboration skills and the ability to create good relationships. You are used to expressing yourself both verbally and in writing. We believe that you are curious and creative in your work and that you have the ability to sort and prioritize what needs to be done both in the short term and long term. We also believe that you are interested in contributing to the overall development of the organization.

Kalmar Municipality checks identity and work permits before anyone is employed. This means that you, as a job applicant with us, need to show identification. If applicable, you may also need to present your residence and work permit.

As a permanent employee in Kalmar Municipality, you will be assigned to your workplace and are expected to contribute with your work during heightened readiness.
